Our Beliefs

Our Mission

To build a firm foundation for human development by making safe water and sanitation accessible and affordable to poor communities in Asia.

Philosophy

Adapting Solutions - For sustainability

We tap into the resources of local communities, creating specially adapted solutions that are affordable and appropriate for local use.

Integrating Knowledge - For suitability

We integrate existing ideas and technology, matching real needs with the right solutions, and deploying them quickly and cost effectively to tap into the native wisdom and resources of local communities, modifying the available technologies to make sure they are affordable and appropriate for local use.

Developing Alliances - For scalability

We convene like-minded parties from different sectors - private sector, government, NGOs and educational institutions – sharing resources and harnessing comparative strengths to create systemic change.

Lien Aid was set up in 2006 through the Lien Foundation - Nanyang Technological University Environmental Endeavour. The Environmental Endeavour (or EE), established within the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute (NEWRI), is a partnership between the Lien Foundation and Nanyang Technological University to advance the provision of clean water and sanitation for the benefit of communities in Asia not yet adequately empowered with sustainable solutions that improve health, alleviate economic stagnation, and mitigate environmental degradation.
